On May 24, seventeen overseas students from Hefei University came to Huilongqiao Community in Luyang District, Hefei, to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Traditional Dragon Boat Festival with local residents.
In the community, students learnt to make Zongzi—the traditional food of Dragon Boat Festival, and make paper cutting—a folk art in China. They wrote down their blessing words in Chinese on the message board and sent their best wishes to the local centenarians.
The celebration activities brought back some overseas students’ sweet memory over their own culture, and at the same time deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
