On behalf of the municipal government, Alexander Badrow, Mayor of Stralsund, expresses his heartfelt thanks in his letter to Dr. Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council and Dr. Wu Chunmei, HFU President, for HFU’s donation of 6000 medical masks.
Given the COVID virus’ being effectively controlled in China, Mayor Badrow, asked HFU to help nursing institutions and schools in his city out with anti-epidemic materials. Upon this need, HFU responded positively and the Confucius Institute of Stralsund set by HFU coordinated and confirmed the donation agreement.
When the materials were delivered to Stralsund, on June 28th a news report entitled “Weitere Schutzmasken Für Stralsund--Spende der Chinesischen Stadt Hefei und Universität Hefei” hit the headlines of the local newspaper “Zeitung am Strelasund”, expressing the gratitude from its local residents for HFU’s donation.
Located at northern Germany, Stralsund boasts Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, which stands as the twin school of HFU. Mayor Badrow had visited HFU in person twice and supported the Confucius Institute of Stralsund greatly. During the pandemic this year, the Confucius Institute engaged itself proactively in the local anti-epidemic activities.
